This event will be hosted by Studio 39 and Devi Moves.
Bhavani Lee will introduce sensual Bollywood/classical Indian dancing while Indy Rishi provides the basics of bhangra dance. After the lessons, the space will open up to free dancing and integrative learning.
There will be refreshments provided by 9-11 Tea Terrace and the event will be streamed live online. There is a $10 suggested donation and we encourage anyone who is attending to please RSVP as space is limited.
Bhavani Lee teaches at the Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC. She grew up in Ananda Ashram with the teachings of Yoga, Meditation, Sanskrit & Kathak classical Indian dance. In addition, Bhavani is a gifted performer whose work in dance and choreography is deeply rooted in the eastern traditions and the relationship between mind, body, and soul. Bhavani’s recent work includes choreography and dance for fashion shows, Bollywood and includes a touring role as a principal dancer in the worldwide production of Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion.
Indy Rishi Singh is a respected bhangra master. He has competed in competitions throughout California. This workshop is an introduction of his bhangra basics classes. Please inquire to receive further training/recommendations.
